The Women’s specific Essential fit is superlight and very packable.  Weighing just 260 grams this quilted merino wool jacket minimizes the space it takes up in your pack while it maximizes the temp range that it performs in. Equally at home in an urban setting or in the mountains don’t leave home without it!

Light and compressible, the Women’s Essential Belay relies on materials and construction techniques to create 5 layers of dead air space. Two layers of Ramtect® compressed wool is sandwiched between the lightweight and windproof outer shell and inner lining, leaving you much warmer!

The greater the buffering effect, the less you, the wearer, are conscious of change and ergo your comfort level is improved.

BECAUSE wool has a greater capacity than any other fiber to store moisture vapor, 35% to 1-5% for polyester the buffering effect is much greater. Ramtect® insulation made from merino wool is unique among apparel fibers in its ability to exert control over the humidity of the air around it. Easily absorbing water vapor, Ramtect® moisture buffering counteracts the buildup of clammy, humid conditions.

WOOL has a highly complex structure. It has many more binding sites than simpler synthetic (polyester) polymers and is thus the most hygroscopic of all insulations fibers.
